About Jeremy
A former print and broadcast journalist, Jeremy Langley now lives in Magnolia, Ark., where he is employed as the Assistant to the President for Special Projects and University Editor at Southern Arkansas University.
Jeremy is engaged to Mary C. Ehrhardt, an elementary school teacher and the woman of his dreams. The couple plans to marry in June 2012.
Prior to living in Magnolia, he resided in Arkadelphia, Ark., where he attended Ouachita Baptist University, worked as a general assignment reporter for the Arkadelphia Daily Siftings Herald, and was a radio personality and news director for Noalmark Broadcasting. His other experience in print journalism included stints as managing editor of the Gurdon Times and editor-in-cheif of the Lafayette County Democrat.
Jeremy stays active in broadcasting as the play-by-play voice of the Smackover High School Buckaroo football team. The games are broadcast on KELD-FM in El Dorado, Ark. He has previously served as the play-by-play voice of the Gurdon High School Go-Devils in Gurdon, Ark.
Jeremy is a graduate of Lafayette County High School in Stamps, Ark., and was elected to the Lafayette County School District Board of Directors in Sept. 2004. He resigned in Sept. 2006 after moving out of the district. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys following local, state, and national politics and keeping up on all current events. He is a former volunteer firefighter, and enjoys being active in the community. He is an active member of the First Baptist Church of Magnolia where he is a member of the sanctuary choir, works with the AWANA program, and teaches fourth and fifth grade boys Sunday school.
Jeremy also serves on the board of Leadership Magnolia, an organization that strives to foster leadership ideals in residents of Magnolia and Columbia County. He is also a member of the Southern Arkansas University Staff Senate.
Jeremy holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in political science and mass communications from OBU and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Southern Arkansas University. He is planning to enroll as a student at the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas, where he will seek a Master of Arts in Church Ministries degree.
Jeremy surrendered his life to the Gospel Ministry in July 2010 and hopes to be in full-time church work in the near future.
